たまにはご近所探訪。東京農業大学「食と農」の博物館併設のバイオリウムへ。温室に入ればそこは未知の国でした。 It’s nice to pay more attention to your neighborhood from time to time. This is my first visit to the Food and Agriculture Museum of the Tokyo University of Agriculture near Kyodo! Once inside its Biorium, hey, it’s a world apart from the outside.

シアトルは雨の多い土地。夕方にはよく虹が見える。くっきりしたダブルレインボウを見ると、いいことがありそう。 Seattle is a rainy city. Often you see the rainbow when the sun is lower. Seeing a clear double rainbow like this one might bring you luck. I wish!
土地にはもともとの植生がある。開発によって失われてしまう。それがわからなくなったときのために原生種の種をタイムカプセルに入れて埋めておくというプロジェクト。いつ開けるのかな。この花の学名は「リンネ」の名前と「極地の」という形容詞から来ているのだろうけれど、どんな花だったか忘れた。
サーミの人々の主食はとなかいの肉。ブラッドプディングにはこけもものソースを添えます。茹でた舌、茹でた肉。骨髄は濃厚な味わいで体が温まります。 Reindeer meat is the staple food for the Saami. Blood pudding is served with lingonberry sauce. Boiled tongue and meat are eaten simply with salt and delicious. Bone marrow is very rich and warms you from inside.
フィンランドの北極圏内は先住民族サーミの土地。となかいを飼って暮らすかれらに、森をゆく橇に乗せてもらいました。 Within the Arctic Circle of northern Finland is the land of the Saami. They are reindeer herders and tourists can have a taste of sleigh riding.
朝を迎えて雲と光の流動を見ていた。永遠にふれた気分になる。 The swift movement of clouds awash by the morning light. This make you feel you are now witnessing eternity.
